Having noticed a social media post by Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park about small hills with big views, I decided to drive up to Perthshire and walk up Dundurn Hill, a small but steep isolated rocky knoll near the village of St. Fillans. The hill is the site of a Pictish fort as well as the cell of Saint Fillan and offers fine views down the glen. I arrived at the summit just in time and with the sun setting quickly behind the hills to my right, I had to work quickly to capture the scene before the shadows spread any further. A really enjoyable walk and a splendid view of Perthshire in autumn.
