Boats and misty dawn in the Trossachs

With a cold night forecast I set the alarm for 5am and headed to this little loch in the Trossachs, hoping to photograph the boats amid the mist on the water and the muted colours of dawn. I wasn't disappointed. Arriving about half an hour before sunrise, it was so peaceful to watch the mist slowly clear and the boats gently glide back and forth. As it was a Thursday morning, I thought it might be quiet and I was right - just one other photographer showed up and after a few pleasantries, we both quietly got to work creating various images from different angles. As the sun rose the mist slowly cleared and the cool blue light became more golden and kissed the sides of the boats. A beautiful morning which was worth getting up early for.
